The Mid-State Trail runs through Spencer and Leicester on its route from Rhode Island to NH. CGLT is a member of the Mid-State Trail Conservation Partnership, a new collaboration between local communities, land trusts, trail groups, planning boards, and conservation commissions working together to preserve land and access for the Midstate Trail. Have you seen these signs up in Leicester and Spencer? Thanks to a grant from the Leicester Savings Bank, we purchased these signs to hang with the new river crossing signs in our towns, to raise awareness of the many waters that flow through our area.

CGLT contributes funds and mentoring to Spencer and Leicester's Envirothon teams. Envirothon is a high school program where students engage in hands-on, investigative learning on environmental issues. Teams from across the state meet for the Envirothon competition held in May.
